Google tops Time Warner as Street’s No. 1 media stock

Why in the f–k did I not buy some Google stock?

Oh yeah, I didn’t have any disposable income.

Where’s my data?

I’ve been over this at least once before :

In one of the largest breaches of data security to date, CitiFinancial, the consumer finance subsidiary of Citigroup, announced yesterday that a box of computer tapes containing information on 3.9 million customers was lost by United Parcel Service last month, while in transit to a credit reporting agency.

Although this was not reported as a theft, I bet a dollar to donuts that is was.

The list of giant institutions who have lost personal data on their customers just keeps getting longer and longer. It will not stop anytime soon.

Say it isn’t so!

But, alas, so it is:

“Yes, it’s true,” Jobs said. “We are transitioning from PowerPC to Intel processors.”

The transition to Intel will take two years. Jobs said Apple will be shipping Intel-powered Macs in mid-2006, with higher-end machines following a year later.

I would think the recent story of laptops outselling desktops for the first time ever may have something to do with the decision. Or, more likely, there was no decision. To stay competitive in the growing laptop space, Intel is currently tho only real choice.
